A Little Nurse: This patient is going to kill me. →
alittlenurse: 31 y.o. male. Lives in his mom’s basement. Severely obese. 650lbs at admission. Admitted with respiratory distress/TFTB. Refused to wear his BiPAP in the ED so was tubed then brought to us. He’s been there for 45 days. Failure to wean, huge, etc. Self pay. Now trached on the vent with CPAP… I feel your pain. Hang in there all you can do is your best !

China's students encouraged to smoke →
cranquis: Schools sponsored by tobacco companies, cigarette package warning labels regulated by tobacco-monopoly committees… And 2 in 5 Chinese doctors smoke. Gee I wonder if all this is contributing to rising smoking-related diseases and deaths in China? (Spoiler alert: it is)

Vaca to Ireland

nocturnalnurse: An ANT is ON me and I can’t see it! Anton’s Syndrome is cortical blindness without awareness of the deficit. A condition where a person is unable to accept the fact that they are partially or totally blind. They make excuses for not being able to see despite medical advice to the contrary.
