Lateral Violence in Nursing: Breaking the Spell →
The “nurses eating their young” phrase is over used, are we really worse than other fields; have you experienced bullying as a nurse? I have to admit I have experienced it and witnessed it also.

Why did you become a Nurse?
Miss Lynch my High school Teacher encouraged me; she felt I was a "born nurse". At the time I thought she was a crazy lady who didn't have a clue about me, the thought of blood and bodily fluids were so disgusting. Miss Lynch was right I can't imagine not being a nurse; it's in my blood and so much a part of who I am as a person.

ohyeahdevelopmentalbiology: In the absence of regulation, researchers weigh their options for educating patients about unproven treatments. When stem-cell clinics are asked for documentation about the treatments they offer, some are quick to produce letters from lawyers instead. In the face of legal threats from clinics, the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) has suspended a...

Nurses Hangover
It’s past midnight and I should be in bed because I’m exhausted. I’m more than half way through a bottle of wine and I’m finishing it before I go to bed so I’ll sleep until morning. Today at work got to me in a way I haven’t been in a while, when you’ve been a nurse as long as me you get a little hardened to life’s hardships and problems. It’s...

White Coat: Fancy Medical Words: Contusion →
white-coat: It’s a bruise! What is a bruise? It’s basically when you crush the capillaries in your skin causing a small bleed.
